Attention AVG Antivirus users:

MAC users may disregard this message

This month, AVG Antivirus (http://free.avg.com) released a new version, version 9. If you are a current AVG free user, then you should download and install this new version. If you click the automatic pop up that may be showing up on your home or office computer, then you will notice that AVG is attempting to get you to BUY a full version of AVG. Although not at all a bad idea, we have found that the free version of AVG antivirus is adequate for most users. The paid version of AVG comes with extra protection against spyware, rootkits, web shield, anti spam and a more advanced firewall than what is included in the FREE version of AVG. If you feel that you fall in the "High Risk" category, then please consider bypassing the FREE version and move yourself right on up to the subscription version. You can find links below for the free version and the paid version. High risk users include teenagers, users who have (on more then 1 occasion) been infected with a virus or spyware or computers that are in use by more than 2 or 3 people, such as public or shared computers. Integrity Computer Concepts has installed AVG Free on hundreds of computers. That free version, whether it be version 7, 8 or version 8.5, will continue to protect your computer against KNOWN viruses, but will be UNABLE to protect your computer against NEW viruses. We ask that all of our clients upgrade to one of the following versions. Installation is easy and will take only 10 minutes. Once you follow the links below and save the downloaded installation file, don't forget to actually install it. Often times, users will download the file, but will not follow through to the installation steps. Once installed, you will need to restart your computer and then open up the new version of AVG and do a manual update using the update feature.

For more than 3 years, ICC has recomended AVG Free as an affordable choice over well known subscription base virus software from companies like Symantec and McAfee. Although the free version is still very good, recent spikes in online spyware, maleware and viruses have forced us to change our recommendation for most people from the FREE version to the PAID version. If you have never had a virus, spyware or maleware and you do NOT download files from the interent, then you're ok to continue using the FREE version.

We will be happy to make an appointment with you to download and install this new version of AVG, simply contact us @ 949-689-5078 or send an appointment request to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it We're sorry but due to the sheer number of clients needing this upgrade, we are unable to "walk" you through this installation over the phone. If you choose to have us perform the update, we will also check your computer for other updates including browser updates, windows updates and other general tune up items. We are for the month of December only, waiving our normal 2 hour minimum for clients wishing to have an AVG update done by Integrity Computer Concepts.

Safe Surfing,
Scott Burnett
